Warm Apple Cinnamon Protein Oatmeal

Who doesn't love a warm cup of oatmeal for breakfast? This recipe is everything you need on a fall morning. This comforting mix of creamy and warm apple cinnamon flavor is made even better with a healthy dose of collagen protein. The addition of ProGlow Strong + Youthful collagen-based protein powder it will leave you warm and glowing from the inside-out.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup old fashioned oats 

  • 2/3 cup water 

  • 1 small apple, chopped 

  • 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice (or use a dash of each: cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice)

  • 1/2 serving vanilla Strong + Youthful collagen-based protein powder 

  • Stevia, or another preferred sweetener (to taste)

  • Splash of almond milk for desired consistency after cooking 

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine oats and water. Simmer until the liquid absorbs into the oats. Stir frequently to prevent burning for about 8 minutes. 

  2. Meanwhile, in a separate small saucepan, spray nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Add the diced apple chunks and spray apple with cooking spray. Stir in a dash of cinnamon or apple pie spice and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft. 

  3. Once oats are cooked, stir in apple pie spice.

  4. Stir in Strong + Youthful collagen-based protein powder last. Add about 1/4 cup almond milk while stirring in protein powder. 

  5. Top oatmeal with apples, almond butter and chopped pecans. 

  6. Enjoy!
