Year End Countdown to Rollover of Health Insurance Benefits
Use Your Health Benefits Before They Go Down the Drain
With the holidays finally upon us, time only seems to be speeding up as the activities, family obligations and celebrations flow throughout the month. Before we know it 2019 will be here, and benefits you had left in your health insurance plan will be gone. That’s why it’s important to take the time to check-in with your plan, and schedule a visit to utilize those dollars before they expire.
Here’s 3 areas to look at when considering where your health funds begin and end – and how to jump on them before a missed opportunity to taking care of #1.
Deductibles – A solid consideration is how close you are to your plan’s deductible. Since this is reset every year, this is good to note. If this has already been met, you definitely want to jump on all health care needs you have before it resets in 2019.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Balances – Pre-tax dollars fuel FSA (Flexible Spending Account) balances, which allows you to save money on yearly taxes through reduction of taxable income. The catch is that you must use these FSA benefits before yearend. Double check on what you can use these funds for, and book your appointment ASAP.
Plan Changes – Health care plans change yearly, and there is a chance that coverage you have now may not remain for next year. Take advantage of your plan and book before year’s end.
